About Our Team

ANOART is a research team of the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research at the University of New Brunswick with a specific mandate of studying the abuse and neglect of older adults in the Maritime provinces. The team is a partnership among university-based researchers, policy makers, service providers and representatives of groups concerned with abuse and neglect of older adults. Their research activities are action-oriented and focused on social change.

The AIM Study

The AIM Study is a randomized controlled trial (RCT) being conducted with midlife and older (45+) women living in the Maritime provinces who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV). The goal of the AIM Study is to test the effectiveness of the AIM Program, or the Advocacy Intervention for women in Midlife and older who experience IPV and to learn from those who facilitated and participated in the Program.
